Blogging and Writing
My brother used to always tell me to write about how my day was to him. It didn't have to be an essay, just write as much as you want. Basically, it was blogging. I used to always blog and write about my day as a kid. I ended up not writing a paragraph, but an essay about my day. Blogging about my life made me a better writer because I felt more comfortable blogging and writing about my day to day life. The only hard part about it, was making it descriptive or making people interested in what you have wrote. I realized that my brother taught me how to write through blogging. I have stopped blogging since my sophomore year and since then, my writing has been sloppier and has gotten worse because I have stopped writing/blogging about my day. The less I write or blog everyday, the more worse my writing becomes. I hope I can get myself to write and blog more about my life on my old blog rather than just blog here! It's one of the ways to make my writing better, plus it's a peter elbow method. Freewriting about my day to night.

With this being my first time blogging, I'm excited to how it'll improve me as a writer. hearing from your first hand experience with blogging i hope to see improvements in my literature.
ReplyDeleteFreewriting is so helpful. I never really tried it or understood why it was so helpful until I took AP English last year. I understand when you said that you became a much better writer because you wrote about your day to day life. Writing out my thoughts and actually seeing it on paper is a much more clear way to prepare for writing essays such as the personal statement. Freewriting is very valuable and I feel like it should be introduced in elementary school.
ReplyDeletewith this also being my first time blogging I am just happy to know that I am going to improve in my writing skills and i feel like this is just another form of freewriting which is honestly fun and helps you as a writer! Just keep writing mony! it'll make you prosper as a writer!
